Seo In-guk in talks to lead new fantasy drama ‘Destruction’ | Kdramapal

Singer and actor Seo In-guk is currently reviewing an offer to star in the upcoming fantasy series Destruction (tentative title), according to his agency, Story J Company.

Also known by its literal title translation The One Day Destruction Entered the Front Door of My House, the drama will tell the story of a mysterious being who brings inevitable destruction to other people’s lives.

Seo In-guk is considering to portray the male protagonist Kim Sa-ram, a strange character who also goes by the name “Ruin.” He was born between the dark and the light. As his name suggests, his mere existence could bring destruction upon countries, people, and the normal state of life. Even if he chooses not to, Sa-ram is destined to cause chaos.

Following his triumph in the first season of Mnet’s singing contest Superstar K (2009), Seo In-guk landed his first lead role in tvN’s ’90s-themed, nostalgic hit drama Reply 1997 (2012). He went on to further his acting repertoire in OCN’s Squad 38 (2016), MBC’s Shopaholic Louis (2016), and the most recent, tvN’s mystery thriller series Hundred Million Stars From the Sky (2018). If Seo accepts the current proposal, the drama will mark the actor’s small-screen comeback from his two-year break.

Destruction will be helmed by Kwon Young-il, director of Search: WWW (2019) and My Unfamiliar Family (2020). It will be penned by Im Meari of The Beauty Inside (2018), who previously worked as an assistant writer for the critically acclaimed screenwriter Kim Eun-sook (The King: Eternal Monarch). Other details about the drama, such as the broadcasting network and production schedules, are presently under discussion.

Meanwhile, Seo In-guk’s latest film with actor Lee Soo-hyuk, Pipeline, is set to hit the big screens later this year.
