Kang Ha-neul to make special appearance in Park Seo-joon, IU’s upcoming film ‘Dream’ | Kdramapal

Critically acclaimed actor Kang Ha-neul is confirmed to make a special participation and reunite with friends Park Seo-joon and IU in the upcoming movie Dream!

On August 19, media reports revealed that Kang Ha-neul has finished filming his scenes in Lee Byeong-heon’s new work, Dream. The actor’s agency TH Company later confirmed that Kang will indeed play a cameo role in the film. A source from the label shared, “When the production company offered the role, Kang Ha-neul happily agreed as he already knows director Lee, Park Seo-joon, and IU from three of his previous projects.”

In 2015, Kang worked with Director Lee in the friendship comedy film Twenty. A year later, he acted closely with IU in the popular fusion sageuk (historical) drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016), where he played the actress’ second love interest. He then teamed up with Park Seo-joon in the 2017 action-comedy movie Midnight Runners. Park and Kang have since come to a high spot in their careers as they both got “Best Actor” nominations at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards for their outstanding performances in the series Itaewon Class (2020) and When the Camellia Blooms (2019), respectively. When Kang was later announced as the winner, Park instantly applauded his pal.

Slated to premiere in 2021, Dream tells the journey of a team of people who are trying out for the Homeless World Cup, an annual international soccer event. Park Seo-joon transforms into Yoon Hong-dae, a professional soccer athlete who is placed on disciplinary probation for being involved in an unpleasant incident. During his suspension, he was appointed as coach of a bunch of misfits who were thrown together to form a special national soccer team. Though the task initially seemed impossible, the team members started growing up to sincerely care for and trust one another. Starring in her first commercial film, IU plays Lee So-min, a production director who strives to succeed in her career by creating a documentary about Hong-dae and his team.

Kang Ha-neul is also currently shooting for his upcoming film The Pirates 2 alongside actors Kwon Sang-woo, Han Hyo-joo, Lee Kwang-soo, and Chae Soo-bin.
