Brave Browser set to launch its own Privacy Centric Search Engine

Brave, the privacy-focused browser is set to launch its own search engine. Last week Brave browser acquired the open-sourced search engine Tailcat.  The search engine was formally developed by the team behind the privacy-focused search engine and browser combo Cliqz. The search engine which is based on the core principle of the anti-tracking algorithm has gained wide popularity in recent years. This new search engine will be the default search engine of brave browser after its integration with Brave browser.

Over the recent years, people seem to be more focused on their privacy. The continuous abuse of user data by big tech companies had left people frustrated. The brave search engine will be based on telcat. Telcat was completely build up from the scratch and it doesn’t collect the IP addresses of the users, neither it collects any information. The brave search engine will provide two versions of search results. Firstly the search engine will provide ad-supported search results and lastly, it also provides the search results without any kind of ads i.e purely based on content credibility.

You can be the first to search in the fully privacy-centric search engine after you sign up for the mailing list using this link.

“Under the hood, nearly all of today’s search engines are either built by, or rely on, results from Big Tech companies. In contrast, the Tailcat search engine is built on top of a completely independent index, capable of delivering the quality people expect, but without compromising their privacy. Tailcat does not collect IP addresses or use personally identifiable information to improve search results.” Brave browser.

General users are also starting to care more about their privacy online in recent years. Brave browser’s 11 million monthly active users to rise of  25 million in just a year and with 100 million daily searches in January in Duckduckgo tells a lot about users preference. The search engine from brave could see significant growth as more and more people became aware of their online privacy.
