“Seo Bok”: Gong Yoo Recommends Park Bo Gum to Try Villain Roles | JayneStars.com

After dropping its first trailer a few days ago, the cast and crew of Korean sci-fi action film Seo Bok gathered together to attend a press conference held on October 27. Directed by Lee Yong Ju, Seo Bok follows a former intelligence agent who is tasked to protect and safely deliver the world’s first human clone to its destination. The clone, Seo Bok, also holds the secret for eternal life.

Seo Bok is Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum’s first collaboration together. Because Park Bo Gum is currently serving in the military, he was unable to attend the press conference. He recorded a video instead, in which he thanked the cast and crew for making his film experience enjoyable and memorable.

“Thank you for the opportunity for letting me play such an important role,” said Park Bo Gum. The actor stars in the titular role Seo Bok, the human clone. “I hope everyone will love and closely follow Seo Bok.”

When asked about working with Park Bo Gum, Gong Yo praised, “Everyone knows that Park Bo Gum is known for having a kind and innocent image. But in this film, he was able to act with a hardened expression. He was very charismatic. I hope everyone will anticipate his changes [for this film]. I want to recommend him to play villain roles, so everyone can experience his different charisma.”

Gong Yo plays the ex-intelligence agent Ki Hun, who forms a bond with Seo Bok. “I play a very rigorous agent. While trying to protect Park Bo Gum, who is definitely powerful enough to destroy humanity, I also have to be able to escape from enemy forces and take care of the newborn baby Park Bo Gum, who is introduced to the world for the first time. We were put in a lot of funny situations. I hope everyone will anticipate our performances.”

Seo Bok will be released in December 2020.
