Local SEO For Real Estate Websites

If you’re trying to rank for keywords related to real estate, then you should know how competitive the industry is online. You’re not just going up against other real estate developers, but you’re also going up against listing websites that dominate the SERPs. To make your business stand out, today I will be teaching you how to utilize local SEO for real estate websites.

Why Local SEO For Real Estate Websites?

One way you can lessen the competition you’re going up against is to optimize for local SEO. This ranges down your competition from an international scale to a local one. For real estate companies looking to use this strategy, the best market to target would be those in the vicinity of your properties. These could be people looking to improve their standard of living.

Here’s how you can do it.

Scout Your Competition

First, take a look at your competition online. List down keywords that are relevant to your business and that people are searching for, such as those that start with “house and lot for sale in” or “house and lot for rent in”. Then, search them on Google and take a look at the top-ranking pages.

Observe what type of content or information these pages have in common. A lot of the time, you’re bound to see pages full of listings. The reason behind this is that Google considers a number of real estate keywords as having a transactional search intent.

Choose The Right Keywords

After that, it’s time to choose the right keywords. Go for keywords that have a good volume but that are also attainable by your website. Factors to consider include your domain age and the number of backlinks coming to your site.

One piece of advice I would give is to go for keywords that have featured snippets. Featured snippets can help attract the attention of searchers to your page, which could increase the number of leads your website gets.

Here’s a sample of a featured snippet for the keyword “best places to live in the Philippines”.

Highlight Properties

After choosing your keyword, it’s time to start writing. When creating your content, make sure to highlight property details such as lot size, floor size, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, etc. You will want to highlight amenities that will make your properties appealing to searchers. The more relevant your content is, the higher your chances of Google ranking you on the first page.

Optimize Your Content

Besides the property itself, you can also promote the area it’s located in. Is there a hospital nearby? What about schools? Is it considered a safe environment? These are good questions to answer because they’re the type of questions searchers are looking for.

Another way to optimize your content is to utilize visuals. Use high-quality photos and videos to give interested leads a more detailed look into your properties.

Sign Up For Google My Business

Lastly, one of the most important ways to utilize local SEO for real estate websites is by signing up for Google My Business and other directories. This increases your chances of ranking for keywords related to the area your properties are in. To optimize this even further, try including real estate keywords into your Google My Business listings.

Key Takeaway

These are just some of the ways that you can utilize local SEO for real estate websites. After applying these strategies to your pages, you will be able to boost your visibility on the SERPs. First, take a look at the top-ranking pages for related keywords to see what type of content Google finds relevant. Then, choose your keywords carefully and build your content around them that can highlight your properties well. Finally, sign your business up for directories like Google My Business.
