Here is a discussion with this SEO expert!

Q. What does your job entail?

My job involves taking care of on-page SEO, content strategy & recommendation, keyword research, boosting link building profile and competitor analysis.

I also prepare and present reports regularly, suggest improvements in processes and collaborate with web developers and the marketing team.

This also means I’ve to stay up-to-date with every Google update and all the latest SEO and digital marketing trends and best practices.

Q. What do you like the most about SEO?

That it is setting the trend!

With the increased importance of technology in our daily lives, SEO is an industry that is setting the trend on how digital marketing works. Being an SEO professional means that you are helping develop the future of marketing and advertising by providing users with quality content.

Marketing has evolved over the course of a few years and now that search engines and social media have taken over a large share of the internet, it is up to SEO professionals to help websites and businesses establish their presence.

Q. What are the challenges in your job and how do you go about solving them?

Since SEO is becoming more technically sophisticated, my work entails having a lot of communication with the development team.

However, it can sometimes be difficult to communicate the value and importance of search-related initiatives and to get them prioritized in development pipelines.

From a developer’s point of view, SEO can seem like a never-ending source of tickets that delays them from delivering their other work on time.

To overcome this challenge, I find it beneficial to focus on getting the mission-critical items prioritized in development pipelines and actioned first before moving on to less pressing recommendations.

Q. What is your approach to developing an SEO strategy?

With my total experience in SEO till now, the below strategy has been working very well for me.

For one, I understand the product or service thoroughly.
The second step is to know the target audience and their search behavior.
Based on that, I set objectives.

Detailed Competitor Analysis helps me understand what is working for them and to seek any opportunity areas for us. Also, it helps me in other elements like content, services, marketing strategies, etc.

Detailed keyword research and keyword categorization (primary, secondary, tertiary, and long-tail) help identify low hanging fruits which can help us in building a strong online presence.

Working on Technical SEO and content promotions to boost a website’s authority makes SEO stronger against competitors.

In the end, SEO is an ongoing process. However, starting with a sound strategy will translate into online success for many years to come.

Q. What Are Your Top 5 SEO Tools?

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I love to sketch and I also like to make creative things Out of Trash. Here are a couple of pictures:

Q. What keeps you at Springworks?

Supportive seniors, good work culture and employee-centric policies.

I mean, who doesn’t want such a supportive team?

I’ve never worked in a company like this where teammates are so encouraging. Hence, I seek a long-term association with Springworks.

Q. What advice do you have for future SEO professionals?

You need to understand that it takes time to see results, and patience is a must-have when it comes to SEO. As a starter, you might find the basic SEO strategies not exciting, that doesn’t mean they don’t work.

The Internet never ends and is always changing. Therefore, it’s important to be aware of these changes in order to customize your website and SEO methods as needed. In order to be successful with SEO, it needs to be done well by following ethical practices and for the long term.
