Im Si-wan is currently starring in the romance drama Run On from JTBC, but he is already being eyed by networks and upcoming projects!

According to a news report released on December 18, OCN offered the actor a role in the upcoming drama Island (working title). In response, his agency PLUM A&C confirmed this news and said, “It is one of the projects that is being offered to Im Si-wan. It is still under review, so no further decisions have been made yet.”

Island is a fantasy series adapted from a webtoon of the same title and is a story about three people whose fates are connected by a beautiful island that hides a dark side. To protect each other, they must muster up the courage to work together despite their differences. Previously, it was reported that Seo Ye-ji (It’s Okay To Not Be Okay) and Kim Nam-gil (The Fiery Priest) also received starring-role offers but have yet to announce their decision.

The series is in talks to be divided into two seasons. Although the details of the seasons have not been confirmed yet, a network official explained that the entire number of episodes will be divided equally into the two seasons. Currently, Island is rumored to be, potentially, one of OCN’s greatest works that will expand the network’s reputation as the home of fantasy and thriller dramas.

Island is slated to air in the second half of 2021.
