Five Facebook Video Marketing Tips That You Need To Know – Corporate Video Production Company Birmingham

As Facebook embraces video and the average user becomes more and more used to seeing video content in their timeline, its becoming even more important to get Facebook video marketing right.  Facebook users are much more savvy and sophisticated these days and the content, whether its video or not, needs to reflect that.

Here we look at five Facebook video marketing tips that you should consider to make your Facebook marketing campaign a success.

1. Start With A Bang

It doesn’t take much to lose the attention of your viewer.  Within a couple of seconds they will have made their mind up if they will continue watching or carry on scrolling through their timeline.  If your video is a slow starter there’s a good chance that your viewer will have moved on before they get to the good stuff so try and open your Facebook video with a show stopping intro.  You might want to create some intrigue by posing a question, try a shocking opening statement or lead them on a journey that they simply have to see the through to the end.

2. Keep It Brief

That timeline is calling out to your viewer to keep scrolling and see whats the next bit of news.  If you think your viewers will have an itchy finger ready to move along, try and keep your video brief.  Always think about subtitles so videos can be watched in any situation without sound too.  Shorter videos hold the attention much better and breaking your message down into bitesize proportions could be the ideal way to communicate a more detailed message into more palatable chunks.  Aim for less than two minutes for maximum impact.

3. Timing Is Everything

Being able to schedule a post natively on Facebook is a great option.  It allows you to pick the best time according to your target audience so you can get maximum exposure.  Timing a Facebook video could also be about what’s happening in the world too though.  If you’re posting something that ties in to a news story or something relevant in popular culture, your video could ride the crest of that wave just because you posted it at the right time.

4. Think About The Thumbnail

If your Facebook video isn’t playing it will display an image, usually from the video, to provide something interesting for your viewer to look at.  This image or thumbnail could make or break your video’s viewing potential because viewers will judge your video on that thumbnail.  Remember it also will sit alongside other content so it needs to stand out and distinguish itself from everything else.  This is huge on YouTube and is becoming more important with Facebook video posts too.

5. Include A Call To Action

The Facebook video call to action button is designed to bring the purpose of your video to the viewer’s attention.  It can direct traffic to almost any external source and give your video real purpose.  More importantly, its vital that you tell your viewers what you want them to do and a call to action can be anything from call your number, visit your shop, visit the website and more. Sometimes you need to be as obvious as possible with regards to what you want your viewers to do and telling them what you want will reap the rewards because the chances are, they will do it!

Don’t forget there are other ways of using video on Facebook that aren’t based around posts.  Facebook video headers are a great way to engage your page visitors and live streaming is perfect for things like announcements and news updates as well as blogging.  We often produce behind the scenes videos too from our filming jobs but this could be applied to any industry where you show something that is not necessarily what the public would normally see – just remember not to show anything that you don’t want to be seen!  Whichever way you look at it, video content is a focal point of Facebook so its important to stand out as much as possible if you’re going to use it to the best effect.
