In today’s episode, we’re recapping what we learned at the Social Media Marketing World conference in San Diego. We’re letting you in on what’s happening in the world of social media right now and how you can (and should) pivot to take advantage of the changes.

What was working on social media 1-2 years ago is no longer working, and when you know what is working right now, you can implement the strategies that will help you stand out and allow you to attract your tribe. Organic reach isn’t dead, but you need to know how to use it in 2019 if you don’t want to continue to feel frustrated with your efforts on social media. 

Here’s some good news! One of the big take-aways from the sessions we attended is that building a smaller more engaged audience is more profitable and rewarding than focusing on the numbers and vanity metrics.

Another great take-away was the fact that there are 4 main areas that Facebook wants all of us to focus on to build community, and we’re sharing strategies you can use for each of them in this episode.

These are the 4 strategies that will get more engagement, reach and/or interaction:

1. Video
2. Stories
3. Groups
4. Private Messaging
