5 Easy Steps for Email and Social Media Marketing Success

5 Easy Steps for Email and Social Media Marketing Success

Are you frustrated by the lack of email and social media marketing results?

Worse yet, you do not remember ever getting a call or even an email requesting more information about your company products, services or solutions.

Are you investing hours or maybe days on creating email and social media content only to be totally disappointed by your lack of business results?

Well you are not alone.

Many business owners claim to have little to no visible results from their email and social media marketing.

Some business owners think that just posting anything on social media equates to leveraging social media for brand awareness and lead generation but that, by itself, is not a marketing strategy.

Unfortunately, having 2,000 email subscribers and 2,000 Facebook fans is not the same thing!

Facebook algorithms seriously limit the organic reach of posts.

Did you know that if you have 2,000 Facebook fans usually only about 2% of people will see each post you publish? That means that only 40 people will actually see your post – and out of those 40, only a few may engage with your content!

Since we have heard from many small business owners in our Facebook and Email communities that they are frustrated by the lack of results from their marketing, we have planned to share with you in 5 different emails, 5 blogs that will share with you tips and tricks to increase your email and social media marketing outcomes.

If you want to achieve brand and lead generation success you must seriously consider the following steps:

  • Step 1. Create A Written Strategic Marketing Plan
  • Step 2. Create a Marketing Calendar
  • Step 3. Post Valuable Content for your audience with videos
  • Step 4. Invest in Paid Ads on Social Media
  • Step 5. Delegate your Social Media and Email Marketing to an expert and save time while achieving greater results

Step 1. The Importance of creating a strategic marketing plan

During live XoomIM business-building events we often ask business owners if they have a written strategic marketing plan for their company.

Most of the time the answer is no, but many say they have some sort of a plan in their heads.

How about you?

Do you have a Strategic Marketing Plan?

You may be wondering, why having a written strategic marketing plan is important.

You have probably heard of the analogy I will share below, but it’s worth reading.

A written strategic marketing plan acts as a map or a guide to help you achieve your business goals by clearly identifying problems and opportunities as well as specific plans of action you must take to target ideal clients who will buy your products, services or solutions.

Having a written strategic marketing plan is like having a map. You may know where you are starting up and you may know where you want to get to, but what happens if you encounter a traffic jam or worse yet an accident, and the road is blocked – what do you do? If you do not have a map to guide you how will you get to where you want to be? A written strategic marketing plan will guide your business the same as a map will guide your way to a destination.

Let’s say, for example, you started a jewelry business. Because you know all your friends like jewelry you decide to leverage social media to market your jewelry to them. Since some of your friends are not on social media, you target the rest via email. What happens after all your friends are made aware of your jewelry and either decide to buy or are not interested? If after you reach all your friends, you want to grow and you want to leverage these two digital marketing tools to their fullest, how will you do that? If you tapped out all your friends, you may encounter an imaginary glass ceiling after you sell all that you can to your existing contacts. What will you do next?

Having a written strategic marketing plan can be invaluable to your new business because it will help you assess the conditions of your market place before launch.

You may also have an alternate plan to target a look-a-like audience on Facebook Ads. (More on Facebooks Ads in a future blog on Step 4.)

Having a written strategic marketing plan can empower your business by helping you review and revise what’s working and what’s not working.

Having that plan can also help you when you encounter delays or detours on your journey forward, by either having an alternate Plan B or by helping you project in advance any barriers to entry as well as potential pitfalls that you may find on your road to success.
